Welcome to Rhythm Alchemy!
Are you or your kids interested in music and the performing arts?
Playing the drums and percussion is a GREAT DEAL OF FUN! My name is John Hollis, I work hard to help young artists develop a relationship to rhythm, spark creative imagination and build personal confidence in an exciting and dynamic art form that can grow over a lifetime- being a musician! Please visit my Teaching page for more about my teaching philosophy, and the Testimonials page for thoughts from other students!
Are you in need of a professional drummer?
If you have a project that requires a drummer, needs percussion, sound effects embellishments or loops either in-city or out of town, drop me a line. Please refer to my Professional History and Testimonials pages for more information about me.

I studied percussion performance in Washington State and have played with countless bands, songwriters and theatrical companies over the years: rock-n-roll bands, funk outfits, metal crews, electronica, symphony orchestras, musical theater, from fusion to honky-tonk, from deep experimental noise to pandemic sublime song constructions. I enjoy musical diversity and would be happy to discuss your needs for your project and/or musical education.
